The Earthquake Response Analysis of Isolation Structure with Piezoelectric Friction Damper

A new intelligent isolation system combining a piezoelectric damper with laminated rubber bearing is proposed. and used in a practical example in this paper, LQR and GPC chose as the control algorithm according to the damper. The characteristic of these two kinds of algorithm is analyzed and is used in the civil engineering vibration controlling. The results of the analysis show the performance of above new isolation device is excellent. The seismic response of the super-structure is significantly reduced. The drift displacement and floor acceleration of the structure is significantly reduced at the same time; in addition this system is also effective whenever in frequently occurred earthquake or seldomly occurred earthquake for the damping force can be changed of the frictional damper.
